Plant Of The Month,
Discover The
"Snapdragon"

Snapdragons are great because they can be planted during cold weather, and are cold hardy. They love the winter season, and will bloom for month's as long as you keep cutting them back as they grow.

You can always use the cuttings when in full bloom for
a colorful flower arrangement on your dinner table, or anywhere in your home.

When shopping for snapdragons at your local nursery,
look for varieties that grow around 18 inches tall in
height for best results.

The dwarf snapdragons are not a good choice for cut flowers. A new variety called “ Rocket Mix “ is an excellent pick. When topped they grow large amounts of side shoots filled with blooms.

Snapdragons require well – drained soil and can grow in full sun to partial shade. There height is anywhere from 6 inches to 3 feet , space them 1 to 3 feet apart. Flower colors are, red, yellow , white, pink, orange, salmon, lavender, or purple.

The leaf color is green. They can be used as landscape plant in your garden , or placed in pots and containers. Great for a patio or deck. Snapdragons are colorful and eye appealing , making them for a fantastic look around your home.

The Gardener's Handbook Free Tip!
"Planting Seeds in Your Garden Bed"
(page: 27)

When sowing the seeds in your vegetable or flower garden,
it is important to read the back of the packaging to determine how deep the seeds should be planted and how far apart your seeds should be spaced. Depth is important because this ensures the roots of your plants will be able to reach the proper depths to keep your plants healthy and strong.

Spacing is also important because your plants can choke each other out as they fight for space and nutrients if they are planted too closely together. At the same time, you want to utilize your space to its fullest. Therefore, you don’t want to plant your plants further apart than necessary.
